Close-out pricing is a go

Don't forget that today is the day delisted items switch to their close-out pricing, and everything is marked down 30-40%. The Post-Gazette has provided a handy printable list for you to highlight and take to the store with you.

I already bought a half-case of Martell Cordon Bleu, a case of Herbsaint Original, and as many half-gallons of Bulleit as I could carry.

What did you buy?

Does this mean they are now going to start introducing more new product since there's going to be more space on the shelves? I'm still anxiously awaiting new American whiskey products!

Yes indeed, Old Forester is already in and there should be about a half-dozen more whiskeys arriving any day, including Knob Creek Single Barrel and Old Grand-dad 114.

The Lemoyne premium store was really picked-over on Tuesday- I wouldn't be surprised if people camped outside to get some of those deals. By the time I got there after work, almost every closeout was off the shelves (and Lemoyne's a good location- they had a lot of what was on the list in stock before the weekend). Unsurprisingly, the only products that they still had a ton of were the sweet tea vodkas; however, even the wackadoo Pinnacle flavors that were on closeout were gone, and almost all of the wines.

I'm shocked there's been such a rush buying up these close-out items. At the Penn Circle store in Pittsburgh most of the close-out items were already gone by this afternoon.

I don't remember this ever happening during previous delistings...I wonder if it's because of all the press coverage this time? I've seen more than a dozen articles published across the state about the delisting, so that must have contributed to the buying frenzy.

Nathan,

Good news on the OGD 114 and KCSB!! I'm anxiously awaiting them. My bottle of OGD 114 is pretty much oxidized liquid at the bottom of the bottle now. I guess I should snag my bottles of Baker's ASAP huh? I'm really sad to see that go. Such a good bourbon for such a good price. Oh well. Such is life. Are we still going to get Evan Williams Cherry Reserve???

Now would be a good time to stock up on Baker's, yeah. It was added to stores a year ago but it never sold well--only about 140 cases total. Fortunately it's still going to be available on SLO for only a few dollars more than the original in-store price.

Evan Williams Cherry, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Old Grand-dad 114, Four Roses Single Barrel and Old Overholt have all started rolling into stores over the last couple days. It's a good week for whiskey.
